Dr. Michael Zgrabik received his undergraduate degree from Notre Dame, and in 1983 received
his medical degree from Harvard Medical School. Dr. Zgrabik then completed his Internship at
Faulkner Hospital and Residency in Ophthalmology at Wills Eye Hospital.
Dr. Zgrabik is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a member in many
medical organizations including the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American College of
Surgeons and the American Society of Cataracts and Refractive Surgery.
In 1989, Dr. Zgrabik joined Medical Eye Associates as a comprehensive ophthalmologist, and
has experience in the diagnosis and treatment of cataracts, glaucoma including diabetic
retinopathy. Dr. Zgrabik's expertise includes medical and surgical care of ocular diseases
in adults and children.
Dr. Zgrabik currently has hospital privileges at the following Cleveland metropolitan based
hospitals: Parma Community Hospital, Southwest Community General Hospital, and community health
partners.

Dr. James Rambasek was born and raised in Cleveland. After graduating from St Ignatius High School and The College of the Holy Cross, he graduated from Case Western Reserve University Medical School. He interned at Cleveland Clinic Hospitals and then did his residency at Case Western Reserve University Affiliated Hospitals.
He started in private practice in the southwest part of Cleveland with Drs. Graham, Weekley and Honard and then, was co-founder of Medical Eye Associates, Inc., along with Doctor Honard, in 1975. It continues to this day as the oldest established Ophthalmology practice on the Westside of Cleveland.
Dr. Rambasek is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He is a member of the Cleveland Academy of Medicine, Cleveland Ophthalmology Society, Ohio Ophthalmological Society, the American Medical Association and the Ohio State Medical Association and the American College of Surgeons. He has served as President of the Cleveland Ophthalmological Society and Innova Medical Services; he is the first physician to serve on the Board of Trustees of Parma Community General Hospital Association; Chairman of Parma Hospital Healthcare Foundation; on the Board of Parma Healthcare Ministries. He has served as Chairman of the Department of Ophthalmology at Deaconess Hospital and Parma Hospital; chairman of Quality Assurance at Deaconess and Parma Hospitals; Disaster Chairman at Parma Hospital. He was President of Medical Eye Associates from 1986 until 2006.
He has specialized in medical and surgical diseases of the eye, with extensive experience in cataracts, glaucoma, pediatric diseases, and plastic surgery of the eye. He currently restricts his practice to Parma Community General Hospital.
In the community in which he has grown up, his civic activities include: CWRU Alumni Board member and Annual Giving Chair, on two occasions; NE Ohio Holy Cross Alumni President for 15 years; past President of Westwood Country Club, Golf Chair of the Cleveland Academy of Medicine.
On a personal note, he married his high school sweet heart, Lynne, and they have had 40 wonderful years together. They have one son, Todd, who is an allergist in the Cleveland area. He, along with his wife, Michele, an internist at Metro Hospital, have given them two wonderful grandsons, Alex and Nicholas, who are the center of every grandparents universe.

Dr. Ihor Zachary received his undergraduate degree from Trinity College in Hartford, Ct., and in 1967 his medical degree (MD) from Yale University School of Medicine. He completed his medical internship at the University of Buffalo Affiliated Hospitals. He fulfilled his military service at the National Institutes of Health (the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease), and was in charge of the Serology Research Laboratory at the Middle America Research Unit in Panama, Canal Zone. Subsequently, he completed his ophthalmology residency at The Case Western Reserve University Hospitals and then additional fellowship training in Cornea and External Diseases at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute affiliated with the University of Miami.
Upon completion of his fellowship training, he became Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology and a charter faculty member of the new medical school at University of South Florida. He was in charge of the Cornea Service and the Tampa Eye Bank. In 1976, Dr. Zachary joined Medical Eye Associates as a comprehensive ophthalmologist providing care for all ophthalmic diseases and surgery.
Dr. Zachary has been a Clinical Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at The Case Western Reserve University Ophthalmology Training Program and has served on the Board of Trustees of the Cleveland Eye Bank.
For many years, he had participated in medical mission trips to Ukraine and the former Soviet Union where he provided teaching of ophthalmology and ophthalmic surgery at several eye centers. He has served as a consultant to the “Fight for Sight Fund” which has provided materials and supplies to the schools for the blind in Ukraine and has sponsored several children for treatment and studies in the U.S. For his work and efforts in these areas, he received the “Humanitarian of the Year Award” from the Ohio Ophthalmological Society and in 1997 he was given a Knighthood in the “Order of St. Gregory the Great” by Pope John Paul II.
Dr. Zachary has hospital privileges at Parma Community General Hospital and Southwest Community General Hospital. He resides with his wife in Strongsville and his son is a spine specialist at the Cleveland Clinic, one daughter is a pediatric nurse practitioner at Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital, while the youngest daughter is a nurse at MetroHealth Medical Center.
Dr. Zachary is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is a member of many medical organizations, including The Academy of Ophthalmology, Ohio Ophthalmological Society, and the Ukrainian Medical Association of North America. He has been president of the Ohio Chapter of the UMANA for many years.

Dr. Boris Komrovsky is a Comprehensive Ophthalmologist who has been in practice since 1983. His patients range from young children to senior citizens, and his services range from glasses and contact lenses to laser vision correction using “wave-front” technology. He performs the latest surgical procedures and treatments, including “no stitch” cataract surgery with specialized intra ocular lens implants, injections for macular degeneration and diabetic eye disease, as well as surgery for glaucoma, crossed eyes and various eyelid abnormalities.
Born in New York City in 1951, Dr. Komrovsky received his Bachelors Degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1973, and his Doctor of Medicine degree from New Jersey Medical School in 1979.
Upon graduation from Medical School, he moved to Cleveland for an internship at MetroHealth in Internal Medicine and completed his specialty training in Ophthalmology at the Cleveland Clinic in 1983. After nearly two years teaching residents in the Cleveland Clinic Program at St. Vincent Charity Hospital, he joined Medical Eye Associates in June of 1985.
Dr. Komrovsky is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Over the years he has served on numerous committees in various hospitals including Quality Improvement committees at Deaconess Hospital and Southwest General Hospital, and Institutional Review Boards at both Southwest General and Parma Community General Hospital. He has also held leadership positions in the Medical Executive Committees at Parma Community General Hospital and Deaconess Hospitals, and the Board of Directors of the Academy of Medicine of Cleveland. He has also served as President of the Medical Staff at Deaconess Hospital and President of the Academy of Medicine of Cleveland.
He resides in Independence with his wife Cindy and three children, Natalie, Christopher and Alex.
